Lurking over at Adventure Rider I found Ricor Intiminator fork valve for damping rod forks, specificly for a Suzuki DL650. It's a fork valving product that uses inertia to control it's action. Either compression from upward wheel movement, a bump, or non-compression from downward chassis movement, aka fork dive.
So far it's only available for the Suzuki SV650 and DL650. But out Kat's forks are not that far off from either of these vehicles.
Here's a Youtube video.

The reviews look promising but they sure are expensive, $300.00 for the pair. An advantage with these is no drilling of the damper rod is necessary, therefore no disassembly of the forks is required. At least from the review of the Vstrom install. However, since ours has the rebound control, it looks like it would still be needed to be removed and disassembled.
