  • Front End Work

Ok, so I have a really bad sound coming from the front end while riding, so within the next week, I am doing a lot of work on the front end. New wheel bearings, brake pads, new front brake lines, possibly rebuilding the front forks (not sure on this yet) and wanting to change the front brake master cylinder.

I really like the look of the GSXR's round master cylinder and I am wondering if any year/size GSXR MC will work as a swap onto my '89 600?

    Thanks for any input.

I highly recomend at the very least replacing the fork oil and check the seals. If they have not been replaced in a few years, now is a good time to do it before they start to leak.

If your not doing a full rebuild, there is the "poor man's" build option of adding a 1" spacer in the springs to consider as well.

It is possible to use any of the GSXR masters, but I have heard there are a few years that work a little better than others. Someone who is a little more knowledgable should be able to address that more specifically.

if you are going to get a gsxr master cylinder get the radial version off of a newer gsxr as they will improve your braking.

These are what I am looking at. I am guessing that these will work?

Ok that will work but you still will need a lever, I am sure you know that but I am just mentioning it.

I decided to just buy a rebuild kit for now and rebuild my stock MC. When i buy a new bike, I will take apart this one and do this mod and others I have wanted to do. Thanks for your input.
