  • Steering head spanner wrench size

Any of you guys happen to know what size spanner wrench it takes to tighten the steering head? I'm not at home right now or I would just measure it myself and I would like to make the wrench tonight. Also, I personally don't like the "hit it with a brass punch" thing because I want to be sure everything is tight and seated properly.

    -Thanks

well, for future reference (incase somebody else searches for it) the spanner wrench size is roughly 1 3/4". I could'nt get a great measurement of it while it was on the bike but, I was getting anywhere between 1.725-1.735.

That exact wrench is an HN4-5 spanner.
          The wrenches conform to DIN1810
          Wrench Dia.
          HN 4 30 - 32
          HN 5-6 38 - 45
          HN 7 52 - 55
          HN 8-9 58 - 65
          HN 10- 11 68 - 75
          HN 12-13 80 - 90
          HN 14 92
          HN 15 95 -100
          HN 16 105

Best bet is an adjustable one. Looks like this:
