There are limited occassions on which a back tire from one bike can be mounted as a front tire on another bike; in those cases, the direction of travel should be reversed intentionally.

    Example:
Metzler LaserTech 130/70ZR17 rear (fits small bikes like Bandit 400's) can be mounted as a front for a Kat in an emergency (if that's all they have in stock and you have to be on the road), in which case it would be installed backwards intentionally, as per the manufacturer/industry guidelines (always install rears on fronts in reverse when doing this).

SportTecs from Michelin? Their fitment calls for Pilot Powers or Pilot Sports on the RC51 ('00 - '04) model years. SporTecs (M1's) are Metzelers, in which case the tire was reversed by inattention, as they don't make a M1 rear in a smaller size than a 150 and it can't be an intentional reversal of a rear tire on the front.

    Cheers
