the 150 is made for that rim size and the bike i.e. best performance, although i had a 160 on mine before i sold it and it was just fine and looked good, i am not a veteran rider by any means so it really didnt change anything for me as far as performance while putting around town and on long rides out of town

I have a 120 on the front and a 180 Pilot Sport on the rear. Been ridin my Kat since 01 with some of the big boys and haven't seen a difference in performance although the 150/160 is what the Kat calls for.

My old Mechanic from ProLine Raceing, who contracts for the AMA doodes during the Daytona Races, vowed the 180 would be fine. Been ridin on it for the last several years which also gives that nice wide looks you're talking about.

But you better listen to the Pro's. What do I know, I'm just a Squid! Lol's

Seems the all too common belief is the manufacturers put wheel width minimums and maximums in their specs just because they are trying hold you hot rod know it alls down.
Have any of you experienced a front or rear blow out? After that kind of experience you learn the importance of proper tire care / mounting / sizing / pressure. Hope those of you that ignore the warnings continue to be lucky.

Rear tire blowout at 65 mph, at that point you pray to the Gods. You are just along for the ride. No thinking of how you will lay it down. How you might maneavor, isn't your choice at that point. just hold on if at all possible. The craziest shake I have ever experienced, would much rather deal with a high speed wooble
