    What I started with

The factory paint looks really good for some reason in this pic....it wasn't. Tank was faded almost pink in spots. Note old dual exhaust. This is as purchased - note broken windscreen and broken clutch lever.

This is stripped down right before I removed the original 600 engine and swapped in the 01 750 4K mile motor from the Kat I bought and parted / stripped down.

White Gauge faces swapped in and painted needles

As it looks today with my Tailbag and bigger tank bag.

Let me see if I can remember all the stuff done between now and then

    - Removed / cleaned / maintenanced / painted swingarm
    - Rear fender chop and homemade tag bracket and mini turn signals
    - New clutch lever
    - New clutch cable
    - New throttle and choke cable
    - Valve adjustment
    - Fumoto valve
    - 98+ header and Scorpion exhaust installed
    - Bandit 1200 shock swap
    - Rear suspension all new bolts and detailed
    - Grip puppies
    - White face gauges
    - New rear Z6
    - 98+ rider pegs swapped onto pre 98 mounts
    - 98+ shifter and rear brake lever
    - Rebuilt calipers front and rear
    - HEL brakes lines up front
    - 01 Kat 750 engine swap
    - Factory Pro shift detent spring
    - Factory Pro 5 degree advancer
    - Fork Spacers and fluid change
    - Repacked bearings all around
    - New fairing hardware
    - Replaced damaged fairing
    - Black and Silver paint job
    - Black seat
    - Smoke windscreen
    - 750 CDI
    - 750 Oil cooler

    Left to do

    - New front master cylinder (part on hand)
    - Black painted windscreen (part on hand)
    - Aftermarket front turn signals (haven't decided which yet)
    - Z6 in front
    - Wiring up 98+ replacement switch gear to plug into harness
    - Ivan's Jet kit
    - New OEM air filter

    Stickers? Stripes?

    And keep piling miles up.

Any suggestions for graphics / stickers etc? I'm usually a pretty simply guy when it comes to paint... I'm just not that "taken" with the look.

I'm actually thinking of repainting it this Winter myself............like a nice Vette Admiral Blue or something........

              Input?

How hard was that 750 swap? What was involved so far as the drive train goes?

                              Thanks.

Do a search for "swap" and posts and use my user name. You'll find my LONG, DETAILED thread.

Straight forward really. Some gotcha's with 98+ engine going into a pre 98, but nothing that major at all.

Well worth the time and $$.
