Default rear brake question

i searched for this but came up short

how should i go about replacing the rear brake pads?

my rear brakes are shitty and they need new pads

thanks

how long do you tihnk it will take me to do?

i have replaced pads on a vehicle before if that helps

what type of brake fluid? DOT3?

DOT 4 fluid. Castrol GT LMA is preferred by a number of us.

When replacing the rear pads, you really should clean the caliper pistons and replace the caliper piston seals. For the pre-98's, you'll also need a little bit of brake grease (goes under the rubber boot).

Shouldn't take much more than a half hour for a pad change . Longer if you're changing the fluid , though . But if you have Speedbleeders ,changing the fluid is a 1 minute (LITERALLY) affair .
