so i used the search button but to no avail i was not able to find any more specific points to adjust the float level. i have a manual but it also is not very clear. where are the two points you measure to and from and which way does the tab you bend make the floats go? hopefully that made sense since its 2am i just want to make sure before putting these back in that everything is 100% since this is the 10th time at least i have pulled them. also is the i found some black deposits on two or so near the valves is this normal?

Well , the black might just be inperfections in the manufacturing process or the metal or something . Some metals will have that black "rough" look to them just because . If it ain't cleaning off , then I wouldn't worry terribly about it . Carbon or dirt WILL clean off .
