Wussup, from Georgia!
Hello everybody. Want to make a quick intro. Im a newbie Kat rider. I've been obsessed with motorcyle (bikes) since a yougster. Started out riding dirt bikes. I recently got my paws on a used GSX600F. Dude i bought it from told me he was riding one day and it just shut off. I had been looking for a while and came across this bike for $800. Little to my knowledge that the piston rod had come a loose from the crankshaft (the bolts came off somehow). My guess is that it got overheated. Luckily it didn't do damage to the crankshaft. It even broke a piece of the cylinders jug off. So....you can guess where all that stuff went. I'm all in now. I've been waiting to build a bike for the longest anyway. Lights,.....Cameras.....ACTION!

Welcome to KR. You've definetly found the right place to find information to make it run again. Sounds like your best bet would be to find a replacement engine and just swap it in.

Welcome. Look around and you'll probably find an 1127 engine to throw in there. 600 chassis with an 1100 engine would be a lot of fun to ride.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I was able to dive right into "surgery" because of the info i ran through here on KR. A bigger motor is my wish. A 1100 or 1127 if i can find one that i can afford.Like (Psycho1) suggested, it wold probably be better to do a transplant than repair the 600 motor. i found a couple 600's on ebay for $300-$700 bucks. i decided to hold the cash to get what i really want. In the mean time i'll be going through the bike piece by piece with clean up and mods.
