does any one know if the pressure plate springs are suppose to be 2 differnt sizes? i have 2 that are about an inch longer then the other 2 on my 88 kat

I'm pretty sure all the springs are the same size, or at least supposed to be.

could that be why my bike dies when i put it into gear ?2 of the four springs are about 3/4 inches longer and are gold in color where as the other 2 are black . ?

Get new springs.

Could be someone mixed springs from a kit clutch with stock springs.
The manual should have the free length of the spring. Kit clutches often have stiffer springs and it can make the lever pull tough..
Not surwhat that has to do with 2nd gear, can you describe that more?

i believe his problem is it dies when he puts it in gear from idle not 2nd gear
