Now wait a second...
-Katana frames are not the same as GSXR frames...very little in common. Still curious to see how it all fits in there...
-"Made of steel and lighter than the GSXR" So steel is lighter than aluminum? I'd like to see that.
-Close to 300 pounds as in 400 pounds? All you're changing is the engine, and I doubt that's 50-100 pounds lighter than a Katana engine. The steel frame is still heavier than the aluminum GSXR frame. My 636 is just over 350 full of gas, hard to get much lighter than that...90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

Definitely interested to see how this turns out. I would think any swingarm wide enough to fit a 6 in rear wheel would hit the passenger peg mounts, or the supports back there. I'd also be curious to know details about how you're aligning the engine in the frame, reinforcing those holes you drilled through the frame, etc. Definitely take a lot of pics of the engine in the frame....Any and all statements by Loudnlow7484 are merely his own opinions, and not necessarily the opinion of Katriders.com. This is going to a 1/4 mile bike that is streetable. So it will work out a little different than if it was going to be a cruiser.
The motor mounts are not going to be that bad. In the back of the engine I have to relocate one of the lower mounts. I'll have to fab up mounts for the front of the engine and tie into the frame. The engine will then provide support for the frame. It becomes the backbone.
The only thing that is going to stay with the subframe is going to be the round tubes. There are two bolt holes on the shifter side that I don't know what they go to but if I have to I'll make a bracket. I'm fabing a support for the seat to move my weight more to the front of the bike so the only thing it will carry is the tail light and rear fairings.
I'll get some pics. I have to work this weekend so not much happening on the bikes. Works always getting in my way.
I found out today pre and post swing arm pivot bolts are different. Now I have to find one for the pre. lol This started out with a $29 ebay frame and I've never seen a Kat in person. lol My goal is 200hp @ 300lbs. With 100hp N2o. You want to take it for a ride. hahahaha
