Well today I was going to pressure wash and paint my replacement engine till I noticed the below. I've got a busted engine mount and a cracked oil pan. Noticed jb weld on the engine cover too. I'm not sure I'm even going to screw with this thing. I've got a friend who welds well and can machine up a cap to replace it. Anyone know if you can weld these castings? I'm not sure how good this motor is, I got it cheap off ebay (can see why now). I've pulled the valve cover and it looks mint, no cam wear, looks good. This is the first time I've really looked at it. I'm not sure how kean I am on speding time & money on motor I don't even know is good. If I get another replacement I'd like to get a low milage late model 750 (03ish). Will pre 98 carbs bolt up? Is the engine a direct bolt in? How about the exhaust, will my vance & hines bolt up? Anyone put a late model 750 in a pre 98? Looks like it will not be ready in 3 weeks
