'98 mirrors on a 88 Kat 600

Was just browsing through eBay and found this item...

Does anyone know if the screw holes on a 98-07 Kat are the same size as a '88?
I plan on purchasing the billet base-plates to cover the other hole as long as the mirrors will screw into my bike.

yeah, the screws line up, but the rubber boot don't fit.

Those mirrors are worthless... you can't see anything except maybe a bit of your elbow. The holes are the same size... so you can get them if you really want them.

If they fit, I will buy them strictly for pimping my ride (as my daughter calls it).

The factory mirrors don't do much better considering viewability. Not to mention that after riding for 25 years, I don't rely on the mirrors because I am one of those shoulder-check-guys.
I have learned to ride like the cagers are out to get me, so I give 2 $hits if the mirrors provide me a functional factor.

Chris we are talking about the chrome looking ones that have the single bolt on them. I have the 98+ mirrors and they work well.
