525 chain shipped with 530 sprockets

Searching within this forum and counting the teeth on my sprocket I become so sure that my 99 Kat 750 will take a 15/45 #530 chain & sprocket kit so I ordered one from Sprocketcenter.com, and guess what? I received an RK 525XSO 116 link and sprocket set clearly labeled 530. I think I read something like this chain will be too narrow (is this true?, I ), and I guess I will have to return for exchange and be not able to bring the Kat out for a few more days huh?

Yes, the chain will be too narrow to fit properly on the sprockets. It may fit somewhat because the end of the sprockets are tapered, but dont be fooled. Time to make a call and get it exchanged.

yep, agreed, it will fit on there, but you'll wear your chain and sprockets really fast.
