Just curious if you guys keep your battery on charge the entire time your bike is in winter storage. Is this good for the battery? Could it overcharge and harm the battery? I ordered a new battery and have it on the battery tender. It's now fully charged but I don't know if I should keep it on the tender or disconnect it.

Battery tenders are awesome.. If my bike is gonna sit for anything longer than a couple weeks, I'll stick on. No problems at all.
Except charliemav has mine right now, I gotta remember to get back up there again soon ..good thing I need a new battery next spring anyways

i just bought a tender myself. usually i just pull my volvo up to my bike and toss on the jumper cables if my bike has been sitting long enough that it won't start....which has rarely happened. then the altenator takes care of the rest. this will be the first year i will use a battery from the year before. i get a good deal on them, so it is a new one each year usually. i am doing it different this year for the environment.I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

I remove it from my bike and store it indoors (not on a charger)
battery will last me plenty long....but I can get them at cost, since I sell THOUSANDS of batteries over the course of a year for Fire Alarm systems and emergency lighting units.
BTW..in case you did not know...NEVER store a battery on concrete or a steel shelf...put it on wood

I bought a type of battery tender from Harbor Freight..$4.99...works like a champ...I had a battery on its last legs...didn't know how to take care of it but I put it on the batter tender and got me through the week. Got the new battery charged it overnight on the tender and Walla (ok I'm not French)...it has been working fine..Good judgement comes from experience, and often experience comes from Bad Judgement :smt084
