    I'm no engineer but this looks like a solid idea. It would be sweet if the sensor would fit on a pre 600.

          Are you planning on having a board printed? If the price isn't too bad, I'd be interested. I know we don't have a great track record for making them work but maybe a small group buy would bring the price down a bit?

            Yes, I found a place that will make boards pretty cheap.. if the cost is reasonable I will have 3-4 made, I'm going to price the the other parts today to get an idea of what a total cost will be. I'll keep you posted.

              Where are you having it done?

              For quick low-volume prototypes I usually use Sunstone Circuits. (the no solder mask/silk screen boards are 1 day leadtime) Your board would probably be $95 for 2, or $119 for 4.

                    i got a quote for the boards 2 for 71$

                    the base order is 55 and then they add fees.. like i had 10 extra holes.. extra board area cost and shipping... 10 boards was like 98..

                    I haven't gathered prices for all the components yet, I need a few more things.. if i end up buying in quantity it would be good..

                    Unholy_m;
                    I'm not taking orders just yet.. I want a working product first... once its installed, tested and working and I figure out costs, I'd take some orders.. I'd even consider doing a custom dash mount display...

                      I like the idea of hiding the display like the MrClean mod.

                        so do I.. My intent is to have it so that the LED an be mounted like that or anyplace else.. I have gsxr gauges on my Kat and the Temp gauge is of no use so I will be putting the LED in its place...

                        I had a friend check my design and he said it looks good.. he said he can get me 10 boards for 100... so I think I'll go that route...

                          That was actually the idea I had for the boards as well. I was going to get the components, and just solder them together to prove the design, sort of. Assuming it worked fine, I was then going to have boards printed up, from expresspcb.com My Dad has used them for a project of his, and he was very satisfied.

                          If you do end up having them printed, let me know. I'm going to harass the engineer that was supposed to be looking into this for me. I'd love to have a dimmer control as well.

                            GSXF: Yeah that's about what I figured. I was just figuring that I would go for a blank board even. Just keep us in formed.

                            By the way what are the measurements of the board? Are you planning on making a case? Sorry probably more questions the you have answers for but I'm a little excited.

                              GSXFJim, you might have a market at the bandit forums for this too if the final design is decent.

                                The board dimensions will be 2.27" x 1.40" and it will fit in this case...

                                The case is designed to hold the board in place. It will get holes drilled in it and grommets installed where cables pass thru
                                The case;
                                Dimensions (L x W x H) (in / mm)
                                2.50 x 1.63 x 0.80 in. / 63.50 x 41.40 x 20.32 mm

                                "I'd love to have a dimmer control as well." I'm sure I can do that..
