what i did was buy some velcrow and glue oneside to the fearings ... and the other side of the velcrow to the mesh ... that way you can remove the mesh when needed.

Oh and they sell the velcrow strips at home depot too.

That's a great idea. This mod looks great, can't you get mesh in a chrome finish too?

I have this mod done to my bike when i bought it. i need to take the fairing off to fix it because the idiot decided to use hot glue instead of simply using a good ahesive. Now i gotta take off the fairing which i am bit nervous to touch and melt any hot glue without messing up the nice paint. Any helpful ideas for doing this safely?

Mozzy - you don't have to melt the hot glue.
If you did it would probaly stick better.
If you have to melt it, use the glue gun with no glue in it.
Just push with the hot tip.

To remove dried glue just slide a thick knife under it and twist.
I sometimes use an old wood chisel.

I use hot glue as a kind of staple, in little dabs.
It sets quickly and holds the parts.
Which gives you time to use the real glue or resin.

Just lay out some towels or a folded blanket.
Put the fairing on it and pry away.

Well the problem is too that I have hot glue that has dripped down my throttle side of the bike so it looks like of like S#$%! I think i might start this project tonight. I need a good set of tools to get this done though

I think you probably want to get as much of the hot glue off as you can. That part of the bike gets pretty warm, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's not holding due to the high heat and then maybe dripping? I used epoxy when I put mesh on mine about 5 years ago, and it has held perfectly ever since even riding in 105 degree temps.

thats exactly the problem i was trying to explain. hot glue has melted down my throttle side because the engine gets too hot!
