  • Removing Cal Emissions

I have a 2003 Kat 600 Cal model and I've seen that some of you have mentioned removing the cal emissions plumbing and that is what I am attempting to do to help smooth my idle after installing a V&H slip on & a stage 1 jet kit. I am wondering what should I do with the fuel tank vent hose that currently has a tube going to the purge valve? Do I let it vent open, or cap it?

Make sure you cap off the place it used to connect to the vacuum system (either the PAIR valve or T-fitting in hose from carb #4 to the petcock -- I can't remember which), or you'll have issues.

Yes I did remove the tee connector from the vacuum hose, and I capped off the ports on the carbs where the fuel vapor was fed back. I am using exhaust gasket material that has a thin sheet of metal between the material to cap the exhaust ports in the head.. Thanks
