  • Finished My Kat

I bought it in October and worked on it throughout the winter. Its a 1990 600 that was red and runs really well just needed some TLC . The previous owner spray painted the fairings black while they were still on the bike so I had alot of clean up to do, but I only payed $400 for the bike.

I sanded down all of the plastic and had to weld some cracks. (By the way I got the idea of plastic welding from this site so thanks all) When it got a little warmer I primered and painted it in a dark shadow grey and flat black for the fender and bottom fairing. I also applyed some decals before I clear coated it.

I had to order mirrors, a windscreen,a bolt set for the body, and new brake and clutch levers. The hardest part was getting the mirror bolts because they were on backorder. I also had to replace the rear tire and rotor.

I finally got it all put back together and its ready to go for inspecting this weekend. Before and after pics below. Sorry for small pics.

Where did you order your mirrors from?
