  • Front sprocket/rear sprocket alignment issue.

After killing the transmission in my 93 750 I went out looking for a whole new engine. I found a 1990 GSXR 750 engine on ebay, I read through a tone of threads and everything I found said this would work so I bought it. Today I was looking at some info about the gixxers and came across this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_...0_.28J.29_1988 . I'll go ahead and qoute the important stuff about the 1990 GSXR750.

"Although this model looks very similar to the previous '89 model many changes were made."

"The transmission output shaft was lengthened to accommodate a wider wheel."

"The rear wheel was widened to 5.5 inches (previously 4.5inches) but the tire size remained the same."

Well obviously my kat doesn't have a 5.5" rear wheel. Is the alighment of the sprockets going to be an issue? If it is what should I do to correct it?
I haven't recieved the engine yet so I can't visually see the difference.

I wouldn't think it will be an issue. People modify their swingarms to accept wider rear wheels and don't have to change anything on the transmission output shaft. This will just be going in the opposite direction. Now, later on if you ever get the idea to install a wider rear wheel you won't have anything to worry about.

Left side starts sprocket side. Didnt take off sprocket or rotor. didnt think necessary cuz i know there is a spacer between the bearings.
