It'll misfire when the fuel level is too low (also). Spark plug wires don't just jump around. It's a fuel system problem. Remove the seat. Remove the fuel tank (disconnect the two hoses at the petcock and disconnect the electrical connector for the gauge. test the petcock. Replace the filter. Try running it. Eliminate all the possibilities before condemming the carbs.
