Default 2006 katana 750 upgrades

I just bought a 06 katana 750 with 8k miles on it. It has a akrapovic exhaust , and a K&N air filter. Other than that what kind of upgrades are best for a few more horses? Stage 1,3, jet kit? Is there an upgrade ignition box or CDI thst will work better?

since it seems that no knowledgable people have decided to answer I'll give you one.

some will day that you can't really get more horsepower out of bolt-ons.

you will get recommendations for the jet kit (only stage 1 avaliable). and not to use Dynojet. ivans prefered, factory pro 2nd.

I have not seen anything for an upgraded ignition box thaat's just plug-n-play. you can use the Dyna2000.

some will say go back to the stock air filter the bsr carbs don't function correctly with the higher flow of the K&N.

you will get told an ignition advancer it will move the power a little further down in the RPM's.

change sprockets to get more take-off. if thats what your looking for.

I myself cannot vouch for any of this information personally, these are just the things I have read on this forum.

I used a 2005 katana motor in a 82 gs750 frame so i made a custom air box. and now I have the fun of fighting the carbs to work with the change in airflow.also custom exhaust. other then that I'm using all stock electronics.

Pretty much.
Jet kit, oem style air filter, ignition advance
If you really want to do some work, cam swap. Cams from a...89? Gsxr 750. The info for the cam swap is in the wiki.

^left out something though. Suspension.
Get correct springs for your weirght, and rebuild the forks.
Get your shock rebuilt, and sorung for your weight. Racetech or norwest suspension can do the work on the shock, and/or sell you the parts for any if the suspension bits.

Also: SS brake lines. If you wanna go fast, gotta be able to stop well.

I've got all of those except hotter cams. They're all nice improvements that are relatively cheap and easy to do.
