Hello from the UK,
I could do with some advice.
I recently had my '98 Katana in for an MOT and the guys failed it on a few minor niggles of which most have been rectified apart from one. They discovered that the backlight (LED) flashes in time with the indicators when they are on. According to some investigation they did there is a voltage drop between battery and backlight of 1V. Does not sound a lot but who knows.
The headlight is directly fed from the battery via some relay mod so does not come into the equation. Position light has been changed to LED as well so might have some bearing.
So my questions are: 1. Is a flashing back light really an MOT fail?
2. What might be causing the issue in the first place?
3. Is it likely something that can be fixed?
4. Is there a workaround similar to what was done for the headlight?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
