I love my Kat and they're a great versatile (and I think largely underappreciated) motorcycle...but going from a Viffer to a Kat is a bit of a step down no?

Thanks however it wasnt me on the vfr it was a coworker.

I never got to ride the vfr more then 5 mins and it was a 86 700 intercepter. But it was cheap and street fighter style.but the kat has all the creature comforts and ride super nice. Still gotta figure out my front fender issues. Not sure how it should be mounted

There is a steel plate that bolts to the fork legs, with 2 bolts on each side. It functions as a fork brace and a mount for the front fender. The fender bolts on under the fork brace with 4 bolts/nuts.

Ok. Mine was rattle canned and they just used 2 large bolts attached to the side and the keep coming loose. How does the brace up top attach its a 03 600 if that helps any

Oops, sorry, my reply was assuming it was a pre-98 Kat. Not sure why I assumed that, but I guess because I just went through that with mine. It was missing when I got my bike.

I think the post-98 are different, I'll let someone else chime in here but this diagram should help:
