  • "P" position on key switch 95 gsxf 750

    i went to start my bike today and got no response . i have zero electrical power . i had the steering locked since it sits outside with a cover on . i believe i may have left the key switch in the ''P'' position since it's all the way to the left . will this have left my lites on ? since i covered it front to back i wouldnt have noticed if the lites were on . all fuses are good and i never had any issues like this . its a 95 750 by the way . thanks for any replies .

    yeah you drained the battery. P lights the rear light and the small light just above the headlight. Recharge it asap and hope for the best.

      Pre 98, no third light.

      It's possible you jostled the clutch safety switch when putting your cover on.

        Yup..... did that a couple of times on my '89....... it's not a rare occurance when you have a couple of bikes on the go. Based on my experience, a recharged battery won't last, and I wouldn't stake my life on it.....just my thoughts.
        sigpicLife throws you curves......enjoy the ones you get when riding.

                Just out of curiosity, whats the purpose of the P position/having the rear light stay on?

                  P = parking lights.

                  It's if your stuck on the side of the road and need some lights for safety (tail running light stays on) but with out the headlight which will drain the battey significantly faster.
