I have the same radio, it serves dual purpose. I made a speaker box for the garage use and it mounts on the gauge cluster of the bike. I do not use the speakers, tethered to my helmet.

        Not so much...

It's much more likely to be an issue for loud mufflers, as the general preference is to put louder one's on.

At speed, riding on my "quiet" bike (stock post muffler system) I barely have any wind noise at all. It's so quiet on my bike, riding with someone with a moderately louder muffler (Badfaerie's full size micron can) at a reasonable distance behind me drowns out my engine sounds.

Unless "at speed" you were meaning 70+. Even then, I don't believe I would have a hard time hearing with them turned up some.

Harleys with significantly louder exhaust systems use them all the time, and can still hear the music cruising down the road BLAT BLAT BLAT BLATTing away...

Directionally mounted speakers helps a lot. I wouldn't expect to hear much from the few I've seen mounted with them under the tail or other interesting solutions I've seen people post here about doing.... but...
