  • Edmonton toy run 2010

Here is a pic dump from the Edmonton 2010 Santa's Anonymous toy run. There was over 3500 bikers, one semi truck trailer packed full of toys and 8000$ raised for children. All in all a solid ride and I one a free battery as a door prize. Which is actually a funny story:
So my bike hadn't been ridden in a few weeks and I threw the battery on a trickle charger over night and put it back in the bike this morning. My battery is getting old and it has trouble keeping its charge and I know its time to replace it just haven't had time yet. But it starts fine and after the charge and I ride on to the meeting point. We kill an hour looking at bikes once there and when it comes time for the big ride my bike won't start. I have power to the lights but not enough to turn the engine over. As quickly as we can my friends run behind my bike pushing it so I can pop the clutch and start the bike, all while trying to keep up with the hundreds of bikers pouring out of the row we were in. It works and the bike runs great as long as it's kept running. Once down at the park I take the seat off and realize that the Negative connector was loose and didn't allow the battery to charge while I was riding. Anyways they had door prizes to give away and the guy doing used ticket numbers or called out things people had to do for the prize. so he calls out if anyone had trouble starting their bike and needed a jump or a boost. I run up to the stage to get a prize and they gave me a 100$ certificate to get a new battery from a local bike shop. Epic win.

TL;DR: I won a bike battery and sorely needed one.
