Fork interchangability?

Hi Folks, new to the forum here.
My son has an 88 Katana 600 that is in need of major fork work.
Before we spend much time on the forks, I am thinking about buying a decent used set.
I know that they have made this bike for many years, but I don't know what years are compatable for forks.

Without major modification, what years can we use??

i think is 88-97 on the forks 600 or 750 kats

I think so too..
Post 98 if you get the front wheel too..
The calipers are different..
