Oil Change?

I'm changing my oil and filter on my 96 600 and I was wondering how much oil will I need? I bought 4 qts. and if I need more I'll stop on the way home tomorrow and grab another qt.. Thanks.

get another qt. It usually right around 4, maybe a little over, certainly not under I don't think

I'm not draining the oil cooler if that makes a difference?

4 quarts will do it if you aren't pulling the oil filter.

Looking back though old threads here it seems 3.5 to 4.3 is the general consensus. You should be fine with 4 quarts if you do it fairly quick (drain, change filter and close her back up), CP claims 4.3 after letting it sit and drain for a while. You can always run it for a minute afterwards, set it up on centerstand (if you have one) and check the window.

It's been draining overnight so I guess I'll stop and grab another qt. to be safe. I'm also using Suzuki 4 stroke 10w/40. I think the part # is SP-4A. Does that sound right?

Being nosey, why aren't you changing the filter? Have you done that recently or something?

I just had mine serviced and the tech told me my 06 600 took 3.7 quarts with a new filter...is that not right?

I am changing the filter but I'm not draining the oil cooler.
