Hey guys. Right now I'm on a Ninja 500. Looking to upgrade next season to something newer and a little quicker. I like the Katana because its relatively inexpensive and seems like it'd be pretty comfy on long rides. I dont ride too aggressively. I'm a college student so in the summer I just hop on and ride aimlessly. I like to get on the throttle every once in a while if it's an open highway on ramp or some empty straight road. Acceleration is one of the reasons I enjoy motorcycles. I do have a list of questions I'd like an opinion on.
How is the maintenance? How bad are the carbs to clean and sync? My 500 has CVK. I have no idea what Katanas have. Are they in general pretty reliable bikes? What is considered high mileage? I know reliability depends on maintenance but just assume it wasn't neglected. And lastly, would it be worth the extra $ to step up to a Kat 750 or do you think the 600 would be plenty for my purposes? I'd think the 600 would be a noticeable step up in acceleration from my 500 but you guys would probably know better.
Thanks in advance everyone!
