  • Checking oil

This might sound like a stupid question but when checking the oil I've heard so many different ways to check it... that I'm confused... I've heard mostly from sources like manuals for my gsxr 1000 and my zx 10. .. that you are to let the engine become warm up and then shut it off wait 2 to 3 minutes and then check the oil .... what is the correct way to check my oil for my 1988 Katana 600?

+1, not on the centerstand, not leaned over on the kickstand.
