  • Rear Brake Question?

I took of the rear caliper to replace my brake pads, i followed the instructions at the Haynes service manual for a 2004 600 KAT, but when i tried to push the pistons backwards in to the bore of the caliper nothing happenned they were stuck no movement, after i pushed agaisnt the pistons whit the old pads only one of them moved the other one is stucked, should i pull it instead of pushing it, do i have tiço rebuild the caliper. Any info is welcome.

Did you use a c-clamp to force it back in? If not you might not have enough leverage. On cars if I encountered a stuck one or stubborn I would open the bleeder but that becomes a pain in the a**

I took all of the break fluid out, the piston doesnt move in or out of the caliper, could it be jammed whit dirt or other thing? do i need to apply force in to it?
      Thanks

It usually isn't dirt jamming it, corrosion builds up from water intrusion and causes sticking. You need to disassemble the caliper and probably replace the piston and seals as well as check the bore in the caliper.

wow on a 2004? Is it possible that u squeezed the lever with the pads out and the piston jumped out of the sleeve and is cockeyed?

no i didnt, i took the caliper out to replase the brake pads, i pushed in the pistons so the new pads would adjust to the rotor, but the inner piston didtn move at all, in or out of the caliper; the outer one moves whit out any problem.
