  • What would be a fair price range?

What is an average or fair price to be charged from a dealer/motorcycle shop to install a rear and front tire? I already have the new tires on hand.

at my old shop, we charged .3 hours per tire if you brought us the wheels and tires. (labor rate was $85 per hour X .3 hours = 25.50 each tire)

If you brought us the whole bike, ride it in and ride it out, the price was .7 hours per tire (i think). .7 hours X $85 = $59.50 per tire.

I'm not sure if that's "fair" or "average" as you put it...but thats what it was.

My recommendation.... spend $30 on a bead breaker, $20 on a set of tire spoons, and $10 on some rim-savers, add some elbow grease, and you can change them yourself as many times as you want. It pays off in no time.

I believe when I had my rear tire installed, they charged me $30, but I bought the tire from them so it might have been some sort of discounted price.
