Hoping someone can answer a couple of questions kinda quickly, so i can keep working tommorrow.
I decided to do the clutch basket rebuild with the thicker backing plate.
Ground off the rivet head and got the backing plate off, tight fit!!
Now the gear itself, it's has slots, the rivets pass through sleeves,or bushings, in these slots, and throught the basket itself. Sounds a bit confusing but I think if you've done this you'll know what i'm talking about.
Heres the questions
1-Should this all be real tight, it is?
2-Can i use heat to get things apart, or should i use force, drill the rivets out, or...
3-These sleeve/bushings, do i reuse them? I believe new rivets are bigger dia. than stock do i drill sleeves larger or???
4-Lastly once it's all together again, do i leave rivets the length they are and have it tig welded or???
5- Three of the old springs have some sort of spacer or hat on one end, do I need those with the new springs
I can get it apart, just looking for the best way to do it.
Thanks for any help
