Does anyone, know where I can get a repair kit for a leaking fuel petcock, , for a 2002 kat?? Or do I have to buy a new one?

They don't make a repair kit for the 98+ but I've read that you can use the diaphragm from a pre98 kit on them.

    The CyberPoet carries those parts....

no, CP sells petcock repair kits for pre 98 petcocks but a good 80% of the parts in that kit work on a 98+ petcock. If you don't want to do that, then you need a new petcock, there is no kit to rebuild a 98+ petcock. See what happens, when Steve posts stuff at the same time as me, it makes my posts useless, stop it!

The real question is whether the petcock itself is leaking, or whether the seal to the gas tank or the fuel hose is leaking.

I do normally carry the petcock rebuild kits, but am out and just submitted a refill order this morning for more. Arsenic is right about there being no kit specific to the 98+, but the pre-98 kit works for the rubber parts that tend to deteriorate on the 98+ petcocks. Figure a new petcock will run you around $85, and a rebuild kit will run you around $25 (both prices approximate, delivered).

            Cheers,
