Cool Hello - I'm restoring a Kat!

Hello,
My name is Tanner and I am currently working on restoring a 1998 GSX-600F Katana.

It has been siting in my garage for about five years, it was previously my brothers so I've never used it personally. He is not as mechanically inclined to know all the issues it has.

The reason it got garaged is because someone had hit it over in a parking lot and knocked the front fork out of place, it was simply bent. but there was not pre-garage maintenance done or anything to keep it alive, so it's been sitting.

All Advice welcome! any experience with rebuilding these things is useful.

My personal Bike is a 2013 Triumph Bonneville 865 2 cyl.

List of issues found thus far:
-Carbs need to be rebuilt and cleaned (easy)
-fuel lines need to be replaced
-fuel filter needs to be replace
-fuel petcock repair or replace
-Both Brake master cyl needs to be rebuilt
-all calipers need to be rebuilt
-all rotors need to be replaced
-needs new chain
-maybe need new drive sprocket
-I had to drill out the lock keeping the rear part of the fairing on
-will have to drill out lock on gas tank
-potentially clean tank (my brother lost the key and i have yet to get into the tank, but it is drained)
-headers need to be cleaned (cosmetic)
-Lots of cosmetic needs
-I'm PRAYING the coils and wires are still good
-Forks need to be replaced or rebuilt

Does anyone have ideas of what else I can expect to come up in the process?

Thanks for the help!

All bearing, cables and tires. If your replacing the chain, you should replace the sprockets at the same time. Check the clutch also.

Brake lines too.. I'm sure they are dried out. Oil, oil filter too.

Definitely new tires. If you buy a chain get both sprockets too. Get an EK or RK XRing chain. Definitely will need carb work. Might as well get rebuild kits as the rubber parts are dried out. Oil change, plugs, oil filter, and EMGO paper air filter. Prolly wouldn't hurt to trim an inch off the plug wires. There is a free manual for download in the Katana wiki. I'd go through every point in the maintenance section.

If you rebuild the forks, get with TMOD on here n he'll get you setup with some race tech springs.
