I'm not going to argue with you, I'm just repeating what I've been told by Special K who built several machines with the B12 motors.

I wasnt arguing at all. I was actually reiterating your statement. The B12 motors can be tuned to produce gobs of power, but right off the bat the 1127 is already a high horsepower machine.

There's always the frankenkat option too... mix a B12 bottom with higher compression pistons / big bore kit (or both) and a pre-750 slingshot head with GSXR cams...

I've always liked the mix and match options myself... That's how I built the engines for my cars during my Honda tuner days.

Sounds too much like "bandanna" or "banana"

All the fun is down low and in the mid.
Do it, put a pipe on it and see if you can keep the front end down.

I've been told that high compression pistons together with the dot head (88-89 GSXR or pre kat 750) will wind you up with compression that only race-gas could love. It makes sense. The 750 head only has something like 22cc combustion chambers. Add that to pistons that would make 13:1 on the bandit head, and you'll be squarely in the alcohol/race gas territory.

The highest pump octane you can get around here is 94 octane unless you're around a track.

I'd rather go the 1216 route mixed with the dot head. If something lets go in the bottom end or transmission of my slingshot engine... I'm going to acquire a B12, 1216 kit, and slap my 750 dot head on.

How do you know which head you have? Ive got an S1 head on my 750, should I put that on my B12?

I don't think it's the head that makes the difference, it's the cams in the head.

I know they are S1, S2, and S3... but I can't remember which is which. ThazKat knows.
