  • Haynes Manual or Factory Service Manual - Opinions?

I'm debating the idea of getting either a Haynes or Factory Service manual for my 98 Kat 750. The Factory manual is twice as expensive, but do you think it is worth it or is it going to be too technical to understand? I've only owned one Haynes manual and that was for a car and it was "ok" at best, pictures were a little vague and tool descriptions were not specific sometimes as to what exactly you should be using.

You can download the information from here on the site, and print out the pages you need.

I actually work with a Bandit manual for the Bandit and the Pre98 Kat, and just print out the pages that I need which are different.

What are the differences in the Pre98 Kat manual and a 98+ manual?

There is a 98+ manual here as well.

I saw the Kat 600 98+ manual download, but is there one for the 750?

Yes, there's one somewhere, but the values are all the same. The only differences in the 98+ [Suzuki Factory] manuals between the 600 & 750 involve the foot rests and the upper triple tree clamp.

Meanwhile, the Suzuki manuals are the bomb by comparison -- and all the torque values are correct (unlike they aftermarket one)

                Cheers,

But if you hell bent on buying one...burn the Haynes and go with the Factory Service Manual

Where are you looking to get the Factory Manual if you buy it? www.repairmanuals.com has it for $66 I think.

the other option is a Clymer, which is lots better than Haynes, but not quite with the Factory book
