        Looks gorgeous finished! Bravo!

BTW - thanks for the wheel during/after pic. I just grabbed some 17" GSXR 750 straight spoke wheels for my 1100 & I want to do the same thing with painting the centers and polishing the lip.

Got any tips on how to 'hold the line' between the paint & polish?

Did you just work 1" masking tape around the transition line?

Did you polish first then paint, or the other way around?

I taped off the center, polished the lip (doesn't matter if you chunk the tape ) then tape off the polished part, paint the center then clear the whole wheel to keep the polish part polished ( too lazy to keep up on the polish). Still polished to this day..

            Thanks

I'll probably clear with Permalac. It bonds really well to polished metals. They use it on brass/bronze polished bells for boats. Original formula smells more than regular lacquer but it's really durable.

I used wheel clear, it can take the brake dust and brake fluid without imbedding or dissolving the clear coat.

I never cleared mine. I just give them a quick polish once a month or so. Theres something about polishing metal that feels zen like. Very calming...lol
