  • Katana cuts out at high speeds

I have a 2004 Katana and recently if i keep a sustained speed above 120 MPH, the bike starts to lose power and will eventually die. Pull the clutch, pop it and it starts back up with no rpm range and almost hollow sound. Keep it under 100mph and power comes back. I live in Germany so these speeds are normal.

I'm wondering if you are running out of fuel? Pinched line? Clogged filter?

That would be the 99% probably cause. Lack of sufficient fuel flow.

FYI - it takes a LOT of fuel to sustain speeds over 100. It's basically a metered leak at that point.
