  • Engine occasionally cuts when pulling clutch in after sustained high RPMs

    Hi everyone,

Almost done with the work on the 99 kat I have. Still have to do a carb rebuild and valve adjustment. Anyway I've noticed sometimes when I'm on the highway cruising and take an offramp, when I pull the clutch in the bike will die.

I'm guessing its a fuel delivery problem (bad/cracked vacuum or fuel delivery hoses) or possibly something with the engine.

I'm leaning towards fuel delivery because it takes more cranking to start back up than when it does cold.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Running too rich and floods at low rpm? I'm not great at diagnosing, don't put too much stock into that answer.

Well... I'd suggest you go ahead with the carb rebuild and valve adjustment. That very well resolve the issue for you.
