  • Ques- Any way to swap out fairings?

    Hey guys (and Gals)

    I have a 2000 Kat 600 and although I love the bike- I am not big on the way the front looks- I prefer the sportier look of the gsxr- Anyone hear or know how to swap out the front end for a sportier look? Any after maket peices available?

    Welcome to KR.
    There will be ALOT of fabwork to try an fit some gsxr fairings on your kat. Nothing real easy, no buy it online aftermarket kits.

      guages and headlight supports will be your biggest issue.
      mounting different fairings is the easy part. flat bar with a hole drilled in it and or rubber gromet for OE stems etc.

        So in other words i'm stuck with the front end the way it is? I love my bike but the I don't like the front end- I prefer the newer front end.....

        What about a Puig "Shadow" Fairing?

          Welcome!

          You can fit anything you want on your bike. It's just a question of how hard you want to work. Anything other than the stock fairing will take fabbing up some mounts and possibly getting creative with the instruments. You may also run into issues with the bars.

            Welcome!

            As stated...a lot of work is required. GSXR's look awesome I understand....
            But, my $.02 : Our Kats look sweet as is...maybe another paint job is in order to give it a fresh look instead of plastic surgery. Just my suggestion. Maybe some other subtle differences like an 03+ tail/seat swap would also aid in the makeover.

              Anyone ever hear of Powerbronze? They are a UK based company that makes custo front fairing for any bike- of course they are over $500 but boy are they sweet!!

                Heard of em, but too rich for my blood. I'm partial to riding nekkid though, wind feels great lol.
