  • Katana 600 no spark (1990)

Well heres the deal, I got two katanas from a friend of mine and neither of them will spark, and both oil lights turn on and wont go off, Will that stop it from sparking? Also i get 12 volts on one side of the coil and 13 on the rectifier side.

    any ideas?

Ignore the oil light till started. Check your fuses, safety switches, pickup coil resistance and that the loom is intact.

I would check both of them, as they will cause the bike not to run.

Just to make sure the engine was running when you tested it?
Katsuya have an alternator and a built in regulator. The regulator could be the issue.

A side note, the pick up can test withinspec and still not work, I had this issue, I went crazy until I swapped the pick up.
