  • How on earth do I adjust rear preload on my 2000 Katana?

I've not only searched this site, I've searched the entire internet for this information. (I have no user manual.) I've also spent a good 2 hours looking at the motorcycle to see what I'm missing.

    Any ideas?

You should have a big goofy looking wrench in the toolkit under your seat. If you look at the rear shock, it should have a collar with holes and numbers on it. the wrnech goes around there and you change which number it's on. 5 is stiffer than 1.

Oh and you might need a cheater bar. I busted the crap outta my knuckles last time I tried w/o one.

Shock dampener is adjustable by a turn dial. Ifyou remove the heel guard on the left side and look on the shock you will see the dial. You don't need to remove the guard to see it but it makes adjusting the dampener alot easier.

The shock is adjustable with a tool in your tool kit.

Download the manual on the link above, you should find it there.

Let me see if that works. Thanks.

Is there no link to a manual for a post 98 Kat 750?
