thinking of wraping my header with heat wrap think it will benifit in any way

Might look better, but that's about it.

Major downside is that they trap water against the pipes when they get wet = rotten headers in no time.

They typically come with a silicone sealing spray. I got a kit for my bike. I figure it'll keep the oil cooler a little cooler (as well as the oil).

I had mine Jet coated...it is an aluminum/ceramic coat that is supposed to do essentially the same thing as a heat wrap...
