Hey I have not posted on here much, but I recently finished painting my bike so I figured I would post some pics. I have a 99 Katana.
Here it is the first day I got it next to my old bike a GS700E. It was missing some plastic and scratched up from the previous owner crashing into a corn field
The first thing to change was the tail. I also added a Krazy Kreations undertail. So much better looking.
And a custom third brake light made out of the grab bar. I drilled holes for leds in it and cut a slot on the underside to run the wiring. Then used epoxy to fill the slot. Hopefully the leds will last a long time.
Here it is once I got it back together for the first time and then rode it this way for about a year and a half.
Now for the paint! I used Arizona Beige Krylon truck and van paint and Bronze wheel paint for the wheels and undertail. The graphics were custom made by a local sign shop. The paint took about two months to complete everything due to preping to get the plastics perfectly smooth. All the plastics have atleast 3 coats of primer sealer, 3 coats of paint, and 3 coats of clear to make them as nice as possible. I also used rubbing compound which really made the paint look great. While it was apart I also repainted the swingarm, triple tree, and engine covers a bright metallic silver to brighten up the bike.
Thanks for looking, sorry for the long post
