  • Hello from a small town in pa

    Hello Kat
I bought my first bike a month ago and been working on it every chance i get, its a 1998 katana 600 got it for $850 and it has less then 7k on it 6988 xD needed a new battery and a clutch lever to get it started. the previous owner laid it down twice, once on each side of course, and thought it had starter and carb problems. so after a clutch lever, oil change, and some idle speed adjustments it purrs just like a kitten. What i have left to do toget it on the road is new tires cause they dry rotted after sitting for 2 years and find the missing top center fairing and bottom center fairings that go above and below the headlights and that side light for the upper one. I mainly joined this fourm so i can discuss and learn more about katana's in general, so please treat me kindly xP

Welcome. A few years back I bought my 98 600 with about the same mileage. Sadly I paid a lot more than $850...good find and good luck with it.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy working on it and don't go cheap on the important stuff, like tires, tune-up, carb overhaul. Make it reliable then work on plastics and paint. Repairing the plastic is easy when done right. Go here http://www.urethanesupply.com/Repair-Broken-Fairing/ their products do work.
