  • Heard it cant be done

Ok, here is the deal. I have a 1989 Katana 750F, and I want to put a GSXR motor in it. Now I was told you cant do the conversion. Is it true you cant, or can you put any different model engine in it? Because I dont want the 750F engine

of course you can do a GSXR motor. Oil cooled GSXR from 85-92 both 1100 and 750. Whoever told you you can't do that, really needs to learn a thing or two about what they are talking about.

The oil cooled GSXR motor is a direct swap.

.... In other words just buy a gixxer unless you just happen to have an engine.

not true! as Fred stated, money and imagination can lead to anything. you could put an 08 suzuki busa engine into an 80's honda cb if you wanted.

So what would be the better option? Whats the better motor, and not speed wise, quality wise. The 1100, or the 750 GSXR?

Why not just buy a different bike? What's the point of putting a performance engine when you could just buy a GSXR, R6/R1, Hayabusa etc for the same amount of $$ and time you spend trying to make your Katana faster or keep up with some other bikes...it's a Katana meant for touring and street riding not a track bike or super sport...

With the right amount of money and time anything can be possible.
