  • how much would you pay?

when I bought my 06/600 2 years ago, I got it for 2800 with a little rash and only about 10k miles. But the prices i'm seeing lately are outrageous!

I am wanting to buy an 03+ 600 OR 750, with 12k miles or less.

I know what the blue book values are... what is the most you would pay for each bike, considering little to no damage and low miles?

$1800 for a 600, $3000 for a 750 if its factory mint and bone stock with fresh rubber chain and sprockets.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

I paid 4k for my 750 and the only reason why I did that was because the guy was nice enough to let me finance it.

Why do you feel that the 750 is worth nearly double what you would pay for the 600?

Because the 600 isnt comfortable enough and waaay too underpowered to be a touring bike. The 750 at least comes closer to the mark.

The 750 was roughly $1000 more brand new. The 600 wieghed 491 lbs / The 700 516lbs. The 600 is just an underbored 750 engine. Sales of the 750 were roughly 1/2 the 600. The 750 delivers an improved bottom end torque making in a better commuter / touring bike. It also has an improved remote resevoir adjustable shock. Most riders could care less? The 600 is 80 Hp / Top speed 130 to 135 MPH. The 750 is 92 Hp Top speed 135 to 140 Mph. End of season a low mile 750 should be able to be picked up for $2000 to $2500. Both are just nice all around bikes. The 750 just has more grunt.

this is very helpful. couple of questions: when do youy consider "end of season"? right now, as the winter begins? because all the bikes i'm seeing these days are WAY overpriced.

also, 2500 for a 750 is what i was hoping for... are you assuming older models like 01, 02, etc?

End of season is just before people put the bikes in storage. Overpriced bikes could mean they are just fishing for a good price. The bike I bought was advertised for $2500.00. It was a 2000 750 Kat 8K miles with expected scratches for normal wear. I paid $1950.00. It had new tires, battery, and runs like a top. - Have fun shopping and good luck.

well, i'm feeling more encouraged now. I am here in Fl so the riding season won't end until probably january/February, with people probably putting more bikes up for sale right before Christmas.

So i searched Cl in areas that are already too cold to ride and you guys were right. The prices up north are WAY lower, 20-30% lower than what I'm seeing down here.

i'll just have to wait for the prices to come down before I start to look more seriously.

Here in Illinois were starting to max out at around 50 degrees with a low of 30's... I rode the other day and it was chilly in the day and I couldn't imagine riding in the morning to work!

Secondly I traded a 82 CR250 for my 92 750 that just needed its carbs cleaned and a set of tires...oh yeah I bought the dirtbike for 100 bucks from a buddy that needed cash desperately...i guess it was my luck the guy I traded was more into dirtbike than sportbikes, it's got 22k on her and she runs like a top
