          Hi,

          I'm in the market too for a set of sprockets + chain .. been visiting gear commander often lately thinking 47/17 might be just right for my riding ..

          Just out of curiosity I thought I'd ask you why did you decide for a 45/15 setup? according to gear commander there's not much to gain from going down 2 teeth on the rear.. or is there?

            17 won't fit, 16 will with some modifications.

              Hi,
              17 won't fit on a 2000 Kat? and what kind of modifications do you mean?
              Could you be a bit more specific please?

              thanks

                One of the bolts that hold the cover to the case has a mounting post on the case and cover that will need to be removed, and possibly a second to allow the chain to clear, it might also hit the clutch push rod and that can't be modified

                It's better to stay with the 15 and change the rear.

                  you will have to remove some materiel from the sprocket cover, for clearance.

                    45/15 is the stock gearing for my bike.

                      Thanks for the replies!
                      So I guess I'll stick to 15/47 then .. I won't gain much by going 45 on the rear, rpms would only drop by 300 or so .. not worth it.

                      @raidinmd: sorry, didn't notice you have a 750

                          Yes, GSXFJim cuts his sprockets from 7057-T6 billet aluminum.

                            I have a 16t front. it barely fits after grinding clearance. 17 not room.

                              stock gears are the best unless you drop one up ft and gain pull aways and loose some on top

                                true, however my aim was to reduce rpms a bit for a quieter ride while cruising.
